Art is my way of communication, my way of improving the world.
I instill my love and energy into it, with hope that it will reflect on viewers, provoke thoughts, and fill them with love and appreciation towards humanity and other life forms. All object in my artworks have some meaning. They are composed together to tell a story.
How can art carry a social responsibility? How to visualize an idea of "Love your neighbor"? How can an artist with Armenian heritage express gratitude to cultures that welcomed survivors of the 1915 Armenian genocide? These questions gave birth to my "Alphabets" series, where each artwork is dedicated to one culture.
After months of research and cultural immersion I find and compose elements symbolizing unique vibrations of subject culture, including: famous artistic style, inventions, traditions, believes, cuisine, flora, fauna, along with a full alphabet in obvious or hidden form.
When looked at each artwork individually, it is my love story to the subject culture, when looked at series as whole; it’s a celebration of our cultural diversity and an acknowledgment of continuous mutual influence.
My goal is to let viewers resonate with diverse cultural vibrations of our planet, and to grow an internal seed of respect and appreciation, which, hopefully, will become a Tree of Peace, giving fruits to current and future generations.
